Web Analytics is the study of website visitors’ behavior patterns. In a commercial context “web analytics” especially refers to the use of collected data to determine which aspects of a site are operating in accordance with the company’s commercial objectives (for example, looking at which pages encourage the visitor to buy something).
The collected data always includes site-traffic reports. They may also include data and rates of email response, information concerning leads, and sales.
